Telemedicine in Future Health, Symposium, Salamanca, September 21-23, 2006

The Extraordinary Symposium of the European Society of Telemedicine took place in the magnificent historical university city of Salamanca, in Spain. The event was organised in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Health Computing and the Spanish Society of Medical Education.

The second day of the event D. Sotiriou presented to the participant the theme ‘From Telemedicine to Modern Asclepieions’. The Session was chaired by Professors Javier Calas and Gerard Comyn.

The Symposium gave also the opportunity to D. Sotiriou to present additional arguments in favour of the adoption of the ideas on which Modern Asclepieions are based to Professor Comyn who is Head of the Information Society Directorate General (known as INFOSOC) of the Commission of the European Union.

ITU Study Group 2 Meeting (Geneva, September 7-9, 2006) ...

The papers on Modern Asclepieions' Guidelines (please see previous post) submitted to the Meeting were discussed on Friday September 8, during the Q14 2/2 Session. Delegates were invited to give comments and suggestions. The documents will also be forwarded by ITU to WHO for opinion.
